Community Design Charette - Cash Corner
Join the SoPo 2040 team for the second of two interactive design charrettes on the future of key brownfield sites across the City!
In this workshop-style event, community members will discuss the potential architectural design considerations and development opportunities for brownfield sites in the Cash Corner industrial district, based on market and infrastructure constraints and opportunities.
This event will take place at the Cash Corner Fire Station Conference Room from 6-8:30pm. Community members from across South Portland are welcome to join the conversation!
Community Design Charette - Eastern Waterfront
Join the SoPo 2040 team for the first of two interactive design charrettes on the future of key brownfield sites across the City!
In this workshop-style event, community members will discuss the potential architectural design considerations and development opportunities for brownfield sites around Front Street, based on market and infrastructure constraints and opportunities.

Climate Resilience Community Workshop

Join the SoPo2040 team for a Climate Resilience Community Workshop, where community members will learn and discuss potential approaches to building resilience to sea level rise and flooding by 2040.

Waterfront Resilience Open House
Interested in gaining a comprehensive understanding of your neighborhood's vulnerabilities to climate-related coastal hazards? Join Planning and Sustainability staff and Greater Portland Council of Governments for a Waterfront Resilience Open House! Drop in with a friend or neighbor to learn more about projected climate impacts to South Portland's waterfront, explore new data, maps, and resources on sea level rise, and discuss potential approaches to building coastal resilience across our community by 2040.

Fall Engagement Phase Ends
Last day to provide comment on the draft Vision & Goals. The final draft will be adopted by the Comprehensive Plan Committee after their January 31st meeting.
What comes next?
2024-2025: The next phases of the plan development includes a policy alternatives analysis to contemplate the best ways to achieve the Vision & Goals (including topics like climate resilience, economic development, land use policies and more), as well as the plan’s implementation matrix, timeline, and responsible parties.
